In this chapter, we will check the MMU3 Buffer.
There have been several versions of the buffer cartridgees available, which might look slightly different.
The MMU3 for the MK4 printer necessitates the use of the most recent buffer cartridge design, Version B.
Version B has been included in MMU3 packages shipped after April 2024. If you have this version, skip this chapter.
The version B accommodates the slightly longer unload distance of the Nextruder. If you're adapting an older MMU3 unit to the MK4, it's necessary to reprint the plastic parts of the buffer cartridge to ensure proper compatibility.
In case you have the version A of the buffer cartridges, proceed to the next step.

Remove all the PTFE tubes from the buffer segments.
Push the collet in and hold it. Push the PTFE tube in, then pull it out to remove it easily.
Remove all the segments from the buffer.
We need to disassemble the buffer segments and reassemble them using the updated plastic parts.
Save all the hardware components as we will need to reuse them.

Make sure you are using the version B of the buffer segments.
Replacing the segment wheels isn’t necessary. We suggest using the old ones with the bearings already in place.
